Manchester Dogs’ Home fund hits £2million mark

Animal lovers show just how much they care helping to raise £2million for the Harpurhey home.

Tragic fire

The home was decimated by fire in September, unbelievably the cause was attributed to arson and a young offender was arrested and charged.

As a team that works closely with canines, we were understandably upset by the trauma and devastation caused by the blaze.  It’s been claimed 60 dogs perished in the inferno, many of which were overcome by toxic fumes, flames and injuries causes by sections of the roof falling in.

Give generously

Thankfully the kind-hearted general public have dug deep into their pockets to raise money through their Just Giving page. The canines that perished in the blaze might not be around but their legacy lives on and hopefully, when the home is rebuilt and refurbished it will be a state-of-the-art facility that re-houses and re-homes millions of canines in the future.

We sincerely hope the Manchester Dogs’ Home finds it feet as quickly as possible. It’s hard not to admire the work they do at K9 Patrol, being dog lovers ourselves this is pretty understandable. Our specialist handlers form strong relationships with their specialist* security dogs
